Q – How can I diagnose my BoostMAX problems?

BoostMAX Diagnostic LED Information

The LEDs are behind the front panel on the BoostMAX and are not very bright. The LEDs are only used to gather diagnostic information (if a customer is willing and the tech is willing to work with a customer to locate the issue).

BoostMAX: The 12v wire must be connected for the device to function.

FLASHING GREEN LED ONLY = The 12v wire is not connected, or the fuse is blown, or a bad wire connection. If the ONLY the GREEN LED is flashing, the device output is “turned off” and the vehicle will have codes. After correcting the issue: Disconnect the battery or use a DTC code clearing tool to clear codes.

SOLID GREEN LED = Device is powered ON.

SOLID YELLOW LED = Indicates voltage from the Pedal.

SOLID BLUE LED = Indicates CONTROL DIAL SETTING

DIAL: Installed and set at ZERO (we recommend performing this test with the Key On/Engine OFF).

  • The Yellow LED result shows that the Pedal Input is GOOD
  • The Blue LED result shows that the Dial Output is at Zero and GOOD
  • Pedal stock position – Green solid • Yellow solid • Blue solid
  • Pedal 50% position – Green SOLID • Yellow blinks slow • Blue solid
  • Pedal 100% position – Green SOLID • Yellow blinks fast • Blue solid

DIAL Installed and set at 100% (we recommend performing this test with the Key On/Engine OFF).

  • The Yellow LED result shows that the Pedal Input is GOOD
  • The Blue LED result shows that the DIAL Output is at 50% and GOOD
  • Pedal stock position – Green solid • Yellow solid • Blue solid
  • Pedal 50% position – Green solid • Yellow blinks slow • Blue Blinks FAST
  • Pedal 100% position – Green solid • Yellow blinks fast • Blue Blinks FAST
Q – Can I stack a JMS BoostMAX and a PedalMAX?

Yes, you can! The PedalMAX will plug into the accelerator pedal and the BoostMAX will plug into the factory harness. Giving you the best of both worlds.

Stacking BoostMAX in line with PedalMAX to further heighten the driving experience by improving all-around throttle response while further enhancing low and mid-range torque.

Q – Will my BoostMAX ruin my warranty?

The BoostMAX should not adversely affect your warranty as long as all recommended installation procedures and guidelines are followed.

To avoid any confusion, we always recommend the removal of any performance products before you take your vehicle to the dealer for warranty service.

Q – How much power should I expect from the installation of the BoostMAX?

It depends directly on the particular EcoBoost platform it is being installed on and what octane fuel is used.

Please refer to the application guide and select your particular recommended BoostMAX for a reference to power gains.

Q – Will BoostMAX adversely affect my fuel mileage?

Yes and No. We have gotten a lot of feedback from customers that they have actually gotten better fuel mileage due to the increase in power. When first installed customers may “Feel the Freedom” of the increased power and drive a bit more aggressively and use a bit more fuel because of their temporary “spirited” driving.

Q – Can BoostMAX be stacked with an aftermarket tune?

When stacking JMS BoostMAX with an aftermarket ECU tune, it will need to be specifically set up to work with BoostMAX (modified so NO boost is added in the tune).

Q – I live in California so Is the BoostMAX emissions compliant?

The BoostMAX has been issued the several ARB EO’s:

The EO’s cover BoostMAX when it is used on the Ford 3.5L, 2.7L and 2.3L EcoBoost Engines.

  • BX600035 – 3.5L Ecoboost Engine used in the Expedition/Navigator from 2015 through 2017
  • BX600035V2 – 3.5L Ecoboost Engine used in the F150 from 2015 through 2016
  • BX600035V4 – 3.5L Ecoboost Engine used in the F150 Raptor/Navigator from 2017 through 2018
  • BX600035V5 – 3.5L Ecoboost Engine used in the F150/Expedition 2017 through 2018
  • BX600027 – 2.7L Ecoboost Engine used in the F150 from 2015 through 2018
  • BX600023 – 2.3L Ecoboost Engine used in the Ford Mustang from 2015 through 2019

Q – I am experiencing fuel pressure issues under WOT and I don’t want to upgrade my fuel system, will the FuelMAX give me the extra fuel that I need?

FuelMAX fuel pump voltage boosters feature exclusive JMS technology. They are designed to provide up to an 85% increase in fuel delivery, without damaging the OEM fuel pump.

Q – My car is new and I don’t want to cut any wires.

Choose our plug and play option, for the quickest and easiest installation. Plug and Play connectors connect FuelMAX and FuelMAX EZ directly to the FPDM (fuel pump driver module) and the activation occurs via the pedal position sensor (PPS). Our Plug and Play solution eliminates running wires through the firewall altogether.

Q- Is the FuelMAX adjustable?

JMS Chip is the only company to offer user-adjustable voltage ramp in and ramp out rates. This feature allows the user to correct and eliminate fuel pressure spikes that can occur when fuel pump voltage is rapidly increased or decreased. You now have maximum control over the voltage ramp-in and ramp-out rate and depending on the model, the voltage can be controlled via time or boost pressure or it can be controlled via time or monitored voltage, and it’s easy to set up via simple to use knobs and switches.

Q – I don’t want adjustability. Is there a version that I don’t have to adjust?

FuelMAX EZ monitors the signal that controls your fuel pump to automatically increase the voltage supplied to your fuel pump as needed in real-time to 22V. A durable OEM quality device that is completely plug n’ play, EZ to install with no adjustments needed. Improve your factory fuel pump’s delivery capabilities by up to 85% instead of replacing your factory fuel system with the FuelMAX EZ.

Q – How much power can they handle?

Supports up to 1000HP and 1350HP with stock dual pumps

Q1 – I have employees that speed in company vehicles, can FleetMAX help me with that?

You can set the vehicle’s top speed, rate of acceleration, and other options.
Limiting top speed and aggressive driving increases vehicle safety and fuel economy.

Q2 – Is the FleetMAX easy to install?

FleetMAX is an easy-to-install, plug n’ play, speed limiting solution (only takes 20 minute to install).

Q3 – Will the FleetMAX modify, or alter my vehicle?

The FleetMax does NOT alter or modify your vehicle’s emissions or emissions equipment. FleetMAX does NOT require OBD-II ECU programming and it can be used in conjunction with existing aftermarket OBD-II programming, telematics monitors, and GPS systems.

Q5 – I only have a few vehicles in my fleet, as I add or replace them, can I add to my fleet easily?

Yes, as your fleet grows, we can add units easily, you will receive your programming cable and we only have to send you the FleetMAX device.
